HOMEPAGE OF THE LEVITES
The levites is a SDA quartet group formed on December 18 2005. This group started very well and by the grace of God it is still in existence. We started with many but as at now we can't even find them in the system again. We thank God very much for bringing us this far. Here are the list of the members in the group.
Lead / Baritone Vocal: Richmond Oduah
Baritone: Adu - Asamoah Emmanuel
Alto Vocals: Marilyne Oduah and Joyce Appiah
Tenor Vocal: Seth Owusu
Bass Vocal: Michael Osei Owusu
How It Started
In the beginning it wasn't easy but everything works out for good for those that rely on God. As I said it wasn't easy because most of us weren't having knowledge about music. With the help of our lead vocalist (Richmond) who is also the founder of the group he managed to train us to sing in parts. Although Marilyn has the ability to sing alto since she was part of the district youth choir. The rest of us had no knowledge about music. Many thanks to our lead vocalist who trained us very well and we now sing like angels.
Our Aim
Our main aim is to dedicate our whole life to the service of God. We also aim that we will bring out albums which include nice, nice songs. We have written about 6 nice songs and have done a demo but there is difficulty in getting a producer so we want help from anybody. If you can please help us in any form we will be very grateful.
First Performance
Our first performance was poor. I will say good not perfect that time, most of us haven't stand in front of great crowd before so we were quite shivering. Our first performance was at church on that faithful day December 24, 2005. We did a song sang by Mark Anim Yirenkyi and the Deliverance Singers which is entitled 'woye nyame' (You are God). The song started in a bad state but getting to the later part of it was okay. After church some of the congregation congratulated us, some mocked us but we didn't bother since that was our first performance.
After That
After the first performance we have done several rehearsals and as at now if I am not bosting, we can sing like angels. Our gratest performance was at 2008 camp meeting (convention) at New Juabeng in the Eastern region of Ghana. We performed in front of about 900 peoples. We performed tremendeously well, we sang like angels. We did a song by Koff Agyekum and the heirs entitled 'pegu' (which means that, God avoid any bad things that may come our way). The whole congregation cheered us and after church that day a whole lot of people congratulated us. Even the district pastor Kerphas Gyamfi congratulated us.
